Organic Chemistry 1 Lecture

Course Description

This course introduces the structures, properties, and reactivity of organic molecules, with emphasis on fundamental principles that govern organic chemistry. Topics include bonding and molecular structure, functional groups, stereochemistry, conformational analysis, reaction mechanisms, and an overview of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, and related compounds. This course is designed for science majors, pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, and other health-related professional tracks. Prerequisite: CHE 1561+1562; Corequisite: CHE 2532. J fall.
