Introduction to Public Health

Course Description

Students will delve into historical and contemporary developments in public health, with a focus on emerging issues. In particular, students will explore how the social determinants of health impact people’s own health, as well as their experiences and interactions with the medical system. This course incorporates both a biological and social sciences perspectives on disease, illness, and wellness, and includes cross-cultural perspectives. Eligibility: ENG 1510 without supports or Corequisite: ENG 1510 with supports. J fall, spring; C fall, spring.
