Course Description
Students will demonstrate the ability to recognize and apply life-saving skills for the most common first aid problems. In addition, students will demonstrate the ability to handle mental health stigmas, recognize the most common mental health problems, and apply skills to help those experiencing a mental health crisis. All knowledge and skills will be acquired at the most basic and foundational level. The course will be taught by an instructor certified to deliver the American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies First Aid and Mental Health First Aid curricula. Students will have the option to take the American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies First Aid certifying exam and pay the fee to obtain the American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies First Aid Certificate. No requisites. J fall, spring; C fall, spring.
