Course Description
This course explores the evolution of nursing, current trends in the field, and introduces the healthcare delivery system to students. It covers essential communication techniques, including documentation, and examines legal and ethical considerations, as well as the role of the LPN within the healthcare system. Students will be encouraged to apply the nursing process and critical thinking when providing care to clients across the health-illness continuum. In the lab, students will develop fundamental nursing skills, with both lab and theoretical content being applied in a long-term care setting. Open to Practical Nursing majors only. Pre/Corequisite: ENG 1510. Pre/Corequisite: BIO 1500 or 2510, MAT 1540, LPN 110. J spring, summer, fall.
